Nukedrop Zombies!
Think of it as an autocross track with no fixed route. The obstacles are chasing you, your car has guns, and your objective isn’t to set a lap time, you have to survive (and set a high score)
This is heavily inspired by games such as Vampire Survivors. So you need to keep moving, collect XP and choose upgrades to build your loadout as the run gets harder.
For your first run, I suggest EASY mode and the MINIGUN weapon. Then mix things up from there.
Features include:
14 weapons, with up to four equipped at once in any combination.
Eight unique bosses.
Standard survival and a 31-wave Boss Rush.
A-10, stealth bomber, AC-130 and Apache air support.
Ram armour with a snowplough, rechargeable through shield pickups..
Left and right spinning saw blades, each with its own upgrades.
An armed Ice Cream van that lures enemies away from you.
Active reloads using your horn: time it right to finish the reload early and boost your next shots damage (inspired by Gears of War)
Multiple difficulty levels, personal records and plenty of ways to experiment.
The weapons, and attachments use raycasts to find the 3D mesh of your car, and stick to it. But as some of the weapons are a bit large, you may find using third person view to be beneficial. Also you can then see the cool HUD as it wraps around the back of your car.
The track download is attached to this post. Have a read through the included manual before heading out, or watch this 1 hour walkthrough video of a run on easy mode. Then see what ridiculous combination you can put together. Warning, the video contains spoilers… Yes spoilers for an Assetto Corsa track, who would have thought it.
Thanks for supporting Nukedrop and giving me the chance to try something different. Let me know how you get on. Please post your thoughts and high scores here or on the Discord. If you have any ideas or questions please let me know!
Future updates will include any bug fixes that get reported and some late game enemy variety. I will probably change some things in favour of balancing the weapons and difficulty.
I would like to get this working with AI lines on existing tracks rather than just this open arena type build. Lastly, I would love to get this working with multiplayer support. But that involves server-side stuff, and a lot of testing. So, I would need help with multiplayer support.
I have put real money into this project by purchasing 3D assets, and licensing music for the game. But as a disclaimer I have used AI to help with other aspects of this project such as code assistance / checking. So, this might not be the game mode for you.
