Located in the Swiss canton of Bern, Kartbahn Lyss, also known as Kartbahn Kappelen, is one of only three karting circuits officially homologated by Auto Sport Switzerland.
Originally built in 1965 within the floodplain forests alongside the Alte Aare river, the surrounding area is protected as part of a nationally significant wetland and wildlife reserve.
The track underwent major changes in 1980 when the construction of the nearby motorway significantly shortened the original layout. Further modifications followed in 1991, 2005, and 2011, resulting in the modern configuration used today.
Today, it features a 750-metre asphalt circuit with a constant width of seven metres. One of its most distinctive characteristics is its unusual route beneath the Lyss–Kappelen road, where drivers pass through a tunnel and under a bridge that also crosses the aforementioned motorway.
The venue remains an active hub for karting in Switzerland, offering both rental karting and a modern sim racing lounge equipped with multiple racing simulators.
