The Fisker Karma is a plug-in hybrid car produced and sold by Fisker Automotive from 2011. The founder Henrik Fisker is a designer who worked on the BMW Z8, Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage. The Karma is a car he himself designed, and its graceful mix of modern and retro styling has a beauty and authenticity that is consistent with his prior works.
The hybrid system mounted on the aluminium space frame is a series type, allowing 80.0 km of driving on its two electric motors and lithium-ion batteries alone. A turbocharged 2 L inline-4 General Motors engine producing 251 BHP will kick in as necessary to run the generator that powers the motors and charges the battery. This gives the car a maximum driving range of 480.0 km. The performance spec of the car is quite exemplary; torque output is an incredible 132.5 kgfm, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, with its top speed limited at 200 km/h.
The interior of the Karma is also gorgeous, being on a different scale than that of your typical hybrid. Its commemorative car number one was delivered to the actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
